Linux phones with video out

I'm a big user of desktop mode on Android phones. Comes in handy when I'm traveling and have access to an external screen.

Most Linux phones, don't have video out for desktop mode. Does your phone support it?

If you're looking for one, I suggest the Fairphone 5. It's repairable and has decent mainline kernel support.

It has Display Port via USB-C.

But I should also mention that the Fairphone 6 does not have video out via USB-C.

I just got a grapheneos phone earlier this year. Would Linux work on a Google pixel 10?

I can only speak for the Pixel 9 on Graphene, but yeah, kinda.

You can run Linux via Termux, but the output to a display is a bit clunky, as it's just an app. It can run full screen, but has a tendency to crash, presumably as it runs out of memory, so it becomes an exercise in frustration. Fun to tinker with though.

I will have to settle with grapheneOS until I pay off my phone and then I will get a Linux phone.

Right now I have to work with what I got.

I mean, it's worth playing with it to see if you can make it work for you.

It's sad that that omitted it. How is the performance - browsing, remote desktop etc on the 5?

I got a Google pixel 10 and I have grapheneOS put on it. I'll be sticking with it for a good while.

It's not. This is a discussion forum. If you don't want to discuss then don't comment.

I've searched Google extensively, asked AI. Not all of the niche manufacturers provide that information. Not to mention Google is shit nowadays.

Haven't you heard, we now have to add site:reddit.com to searches to get any useful information

And every other week, I discover some new device that didn't show up on Google. So I'm asking for real world experiences.

After all the pleasant experiences, I guess you're one of those hostile linux forum users, I keep hearing about.

Discuss what? Answering the dumb question you could have googled? You made an account just to post this instead of googling? Slop.
