Bees do carry pollen for themselves, and bring pollen back to the hive. It's food, and their main source of protein, and protein is the main limiting factor of their ability to raise new young.

The drones (male bees) don't carry pollen. They exist pretty much just to have sex with the queen and then die.
What is I were to tell you that that's not actually the bee's job? It's being abused by the flowers while it's just trying to have a drink.
