Louisiana made a law that not only makes it a crime to sleep outside, but also paved the way to push homeless people into forced treatment and unpaid labor. Cicero also supports Utah’s plan to create a remote, government-run facility that will hold up to 1,300 people experiencing homelessness. And while these laws hurt us all, they hurt Black, brown, queer, immigrant, Indigenous, and disabled communities first and worst.
Heeeeey! This sounds familiar... I think I've seen this one before... Mmmm... Could it be slavery? Nah! I must be mistaken. Slavery has been outlawed millennia ago ... Right?
Look, we live in a capitalist republic. How it works is, if you don't like slavery, then just don't buy slaves. That way everyone gets what they want, it's the beauty of the free market!
I think what I've read about the less obvious aspect of that is when homeless people have mental health issues and other problems, it's often assumed that if they get housing their issues will have them homeless again before too long, but housing can actually give their lives enough stability that the issues may go away.

I really don't see how that could work tbh...
Nice that that city granted them a pass
We are about 2 years overdue for this.
