Very efficient charger

πŸ“± firms have chased faster charging for a long πŸ•‘ now. What if the trend of higher efficiency starts? Electricity isn't free. What if the charger makers market the efficiency markedly? There may be an efficiency race, just like the long-running power race. Some may pick a 370-W but more efficient charger over a 400-W but less efficient 1. I'm talking re the future, so mad values. Ideally, the engineers can make a 400-W and incredibly efficient charger. Thoughts?

Ok, first of all, most people won't care about faster charging once you can recharge a standard iPhone from 5% to 60% in less than 30 min.

That is already working.

At this point I don't see the point of even faster charging, remember that lithium batteries and most rechargeable batteries don't like being charged quickly, they start to degrade and loose capacity.

I don't see a point of having faster chargers for phones, laptops and consumer devices than we already have, what goal does that accomplish?

The current tech is good enough for people not to care.

I think a phone charge contains less energy than a liter of 100C water or a few minutes worth of charging of an electric vehicle. For individuals, more efficient phone chargers are just not a priority. Even if you'd make 100% efficient charger, it would only save you fractions of a percent of your total electricity consumption.
