I wonder if that varies over time. Is the correlation between negativity and intelligence a factor of reacting to the bleakness of the world atm rather than an intrinsic attribute?
All generations before us believed their times to be particularly perilous and the generations after them to be particularly stupid/soft/insolent. I believe somewhere in the previous century it was fashionable to be "depressed", believed to be the affliction of the learned man.
