[Flatpak] Emoji look very basic on Desktop

I am using the Interstellar Desktop App Version 0.11.4 via Flatpak on my Linux machine.

The emojis aren't colorful and look very basic. On other Desktop Apps they are fine.

I don't know if this is an interstellar bug, mis configuration or something else going wrong on my system.

it can't find whatever font you're using for emojis elsewhere so it's falling back to something that's included. this is most likely an issue with flatpaks not being allowed to see your fonts.

I agree, this is likely the issue. I'll check if there's a way to declare the flatpak to allow fonts to pass through the sandbox, but I'm honestly not sure if it's possible.
