Aftershave: Elysian Soap Shop - Atlantis Blue - Aftershave
Fragrance: Elysian Soap Shop - Atlantis Blue - Eau de Parfum
2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.
That was really enjoyable. Atlantis Blue has a deep blue-water feel to it that is very refreshing. Perfect summer scent for me.
This was also a test shave for the Drew Dick razor that was sent by Marion the Barbarion. I thought that the Jnat edge was great. The ergonomics of the razor (no scales, very square spine, long scorpion tail tang) weren't for me, but the razor performed admirably.
Great shave! This razor took a great edge in my recent honeapalooza. I've used all 7 of my razors in a row, all with fresh edges. Only two of them didn't quite cut it -- the Gold Dollar and the Puma. I'm going to get rid of the GD, and fix the Puma because I know it can be great.
Cold water shave because I don't wanna die. With other razors I can use paste or my finishing stone to revive the edge but with this one I only seem to have success if I drop down to 8k. This aftershave balm tingles a bit but I have been noticing that my skin gets quite red from it. I thought it was some kind of disinfection ingredient or something but I am starting to think I might be a little allergic to it even though it says sensitive on it.
Unrelated: it is a gym day and my gym is kind of a sauna with its broken air conditioner. So lately the objective has started to shift a bit from progressing to surviving the ordeal 🤣. Luckily I can face this battle with a decent shave at least.
This is the last of my soap of the gods samples. I wasn't impressed with the scent or base yesterday (Club Humidor). Today, I shifted to The Cajun Blade tallow pre-shave just in case this sample sucked as bad as yesterday's.
The scent was so faint it could have been unscented. With Bayou Butter in effect, the base was better (or was it?). Anyway, SOTG/Van Yulay whatever is on my DNB list.

First time using a Tatara Platinum blade. It was fine, but didn't seem as sharp as some of my others.

Have a good one.
Yeah, the Van Yulay base has been surprisingly bad every time I've tried it. Not one I want to keep around.
