How to deal with blemishes?
Hello,
I have a potentially niche question that I've been desperately trying to resolve:
I am an AMAB who has had body hair for most of my adult life. Last year or so, I had decided to start shaving it all off. At first, the result was nothing short of beauty; a completely hairless (sculpted) body with not a blemish to be seen-- perfect skin ♡
Then came the blemishes... The big, ugly, angry red blemishes, particularly on my belly and butt. It started happening after shaving a few more times and now no matter what I do, I can't get rid of them. I still want to keep a hairless body though, so my question is this:
How can I get my skin to return to as close to blemish-free as it once was, without having to stop shaving?
Thank you in advance!
If you shave using a blade and use some kind of [product] along with it, then I'd go on a bit of a spree getting alternative products. No speaking from experience - I'm a guy who just uses the electric razor to trim the beard and clear-cut downstairs every now and then - but coconut oil might work as a shaving lubricant and it's good for the skin too.
I've noticed that it really started once I began using manual razors. The first few shaves were with an e-razor, which didn't result in any blemishes, so maybe I should consider investing in a good e-razor specifically for body shaving...
Angry red blemishes? Have you considered any diseases of the skin like ringworm or eczema? Red blemishes are often a sign of disease or a rash from allergies. Especially if it keeps returning.
Well, it only started once I began shaving with a manual razor. There were no blemishes before, so I'm thinking it's caused by like in-grown and agitation from the razors, and that my skin is just super sensitive now that it's hairless . . .
