I mean, it was probably obvious to the ones actually pulling the strings, but I can absolutely believe Trump and Hegseth and co were completely oblivious to what could occur. They probably thought they could just "bomb the shit out of Iran" and solve all their problems.
Oh definitely, my point is that this is generally what US analysts thought would happen even before the advent of drones, as soon as serious truck launched missiles entered the equation the geography of Iran in proximity to the Strait Of Hormuz locked in that logic.
For sure, it's just comforting to imagine that sometimes, even the ones responsible for all this occasionally get to sit exasperated thinking "what the fuck is he doing."
