Trump is growing tired of hearing ‘no’ from Thune. GOP senators are lining up behind the majority leader

Donald Trump may be the head of the Republican Party, but when it comes to the Senate, Majority Leader John Thune is still in charge.

Trump, who will attend lunch with Senate Republicans at the US Capitol on Wednesday, is growing tired of hearing “no” from the Senate leader as he pushes certain controversial priorities, according to people familiar with his thinking.

But Thune is sitting on as much support as any leader could with less than five months until the midterms, and is surrounded by some emboldened colleagues who are more willing than they have been in years to take on the Republican administration.

Donald Trump isn't the kind of guy to take "no" for an answer.

Just ask all of the woman and children that he sexually assaulted.

Honestly, there are only a couple things I remember them telling him No on, and he's pretty much either ignored their No entirely (so on brand for him), or he's immediately come up with a different way to get to the same end. Until they repeatedly stand up to him and make it stick, I don't much care about any of them.

I think they know the republican base is a dry sponge allowing all manner of corruption and debauchery, but that it can only absorb so fast. Trump is so craven, greedy, and capricious that he's unaccepting of any limitation, even if their standards are already so pervasive in their decline.

He got too used to hearing coerced yes's from children that no is an afront.
