And I think my favorite role of his is in Galaxy Quest: classical Shakespearean actor playing an alien in a sci-fi show as a second to an egomaniac in a role that should've been his.

Brilliant! Hilarious!

I panned that movie when it came out, I've since come to appreciate how much it has to offer.

OMG I quote that all the time - one of the funniest lines ever in a movie. Fucking brilliant.

it's kinda strange Star Trek never really leaned fully into classical Shakespearean actor without getting too tongue in cheek about... and i find lack of Romulan Rickman disturbing.

Romulan Rickman, Hahahahaha, that would've been brilliant!

I do think ToS was dead serious about it's Greek Morality Play presentation, which is why I can appreciate it.

It was a bit blunt and obvious, even for kid me.

My first thought was Cardassian Rickman but we already have a lot of great Cardassians and there are way less Romulan bastards. The other option would've been to make Rickman Q and let him and DeLancie chew the fuck out of the script. But alas - never going to happen. But we have Galaxy Quest.
