Like, some dude playing a horse archer at a LARP had a bag of sheep ankles with him and taught me the rules for a game which is still played today.
It's actually quite fun, too. The ankles have point values depending on their orientation, and you flip one onto another to topple it right and increase your points. Ankles that fly off the playing area (the round leather piece that's also used as dice bag) are lost to the other player. I'm sure there's tons of variations.

It's called knucklebones (or anklebones I guess in this case), or 5 stones, it's a game still played to this day round the world where you throw the stones up in the air and have to catch them on the back of your hand
