california already lost to a corporate shill, CA apparently have pretty weak dem candidates as of late. the DNC probably doesnt want to rock the boat of HCOL, high taxes. this might open up for an R in the future.

The population of California is mostly progressive, but the Neoliberals have had a stranglehold on the governorship, Senate, and Assembly for decades due to the scores of billionaires buying the elections as well as good old fashioned cronyism and a party machine that depends on the aforementioned privileged leeches for the legal bribes to keep it going.
