Man, the CPI sure as shit doesn't match my lived experience. 5 years ago I was paying off 2 car loans and still had money for some minor luxuries like takeaway once a week or maybe a bottle of bourbon for myself and the boss. Now I'm making 60% more money, have no loans, very little else has changed, and there's zero money for anything. At some point during that time I moved from just barely on the top part of the K to the bottom part, and I definitely feel it.
