Been trying to get home for the past 2.5 hours on a 15 minute train ride.... I hope Evelyn Palla gets locked in a DB bathroom and starves to death
Couldn't you have walked the 15 min train ride in less that 2,5h by now?
It is nighttime and sometimes even going a few towns over can lead to a long dark walk depending on where they live.
But also DB usually doesn't tell you how late they'll be, they just increase the delay 15 minutes at a time. Then you have a sunk cost fallacy.
Plus with the heatwave everyone is exhausted. An unplanned 5 km hike at night sounds less than appealing. Although so does sleeping at the station
Op is right. Plus that walk would've been 4.5 hours....
Article says this is due to a radio communications malfunction that likely won't be resolved for at least 6-12 hours, and there's also mention of general disruption of the communications (IT disruption) throughout the country. I don't want to jump too hard at a conclusion but if I did it would be a Russian hack or sabotage. I'd sorta hope to be wrong, but I just doubt technical incompetence from the Germans here.
Added: Reading another article now and yea there's some context I didn't have. Yikes.
A lesson in resiliency.
