In helping people with computer stuff, so many don't make the connection that a file goes in a file-folder just like in real life. Having them do the same "physical" take of moving a file to the bin, might help them learn how an OS works.
Also, wow, desktop Icons? I have been on GNOME desktop so long I didn't realize people still used desktop icons.
GNOME desktop is the best way to go, and what a sensible default. What do they expect us to do, minimize all of our applications, open the file, and maximize them all again?
