Post Shave: Southern Witchcrafts - Tres Matres - Toner
@[email protected] casually mentioned that I should keep trying with honing this razor. From what I can tell, this thing was NOS, never honed, and came with some small geometry problems. Namely, a small wobble when held flat on the stone. Every time I go back and hone it through a full 2-10k progression, it gets better and better. At this point, I think the spine is as fixed as it needs to be, and things are good!
I'm still sussing out the quality of the steel. I plan on keeping it because of its excellent condition, geographic proximity to me (made in Worcester, MA), and the sweat equity.
Tres Matres is sooo good. I love Southern Witchcrafts. Shame that their domain name was taken over by scammers.

2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.
I don't use this soap very much, but I should use it more. The fragrance is great (it is a dupe of Guerlain Homme Intense), and I have the soap in the Kodiak base; a pretty luxurious bear tallow base. Matched with the Wolfman WR2, this soap provided a terrific shave.

Lovely! The Sabre shaves very closely, though I do have to be careful or I'm liable to knick my chin (as I did this morning).
Got a "you smell nice" after I put on aftershave this morning. My wife is a big fan of Denim Original.
