You single-handedly writing this in Rust in 38 minutes would indeed impress me.

AI isn't singlehandedly writing code though. Why are you holding human coders to a higher standard?

Oh, the blog here said AI did this unsupervised. I thought that meant it was able to do this by itself. On me.

It didn’t decide to do it by itself, but it did make the thing by itself. The ultra-anti AI crowd is going to deny it can happen, that it just copy pastes code, etc. They’re wrong, but they’ll keep doing it.

AI cannot make new code. Its a glorified auto fill. It just remixes information, it doesn't make anything new.

Even if it is unsupervised, its not doing it singlehandedly. AI cannot create new information. Its glorified autofill. Everything it outputs came from somewhere else. It's not creating anything, it's just remixing it.

Well it's remixing Windows kernels in Rust.

My point still stands. I would be impressed if a human single-handedly made a Windows kernel in Rust.

Your point was that it was impressive that AI did it on its own in 38 minutes, something a human cannot do, even though its built on a false premise.

My point was, and I quote:
