This site is a containment zone for the angriest, most maladjusted people who got too toxic for anywhere else. They swarm communities they already hate, then throw tantrums when banned, as if eviction from a place they loathe is some grand injustice.
A lot of the people angry with me despised me and this space before the ban. They were here to troll and downvote, not engage. Just look at the comments that call me a 'troll' because I post a variety of general news articles to a general news community.
Please look at my post history to tell me how I have been 'trolling.' Their inability to simply block and move on proves how hollow their outrage is. I've done them a favor.
They also say fun stuff like this to me: "must suck being hated so much. keep sucking your own dick, maybe something different will happen. I'll gladly take the medal of being blocked from anything your shit ass 'moderates' pathetic child.. lol"
Or this gem: "Lol you are such a fucking loser OP. Now please take time out of your day and ban me from your communities like a good boy"
Then there are people who also say things like, "Hey, I went over to his community and accidentally downvoted a bunch of post just now to see what happens. hee hee" Which is actually trolling and serial downvoting.
Perfect example of the hive mind is the downvotes of the original post. How many actually read the article vs how many just downvoted based on how they feel about me posting it?
People are free to go and be jerks and downvote anything they don't like. But I'm also free to ban people I don't like from my own community.
I totally support you starting your own community, and being the change you want to see though. You'll also see that there are some people that will see something they don't like, then just go on a downvoting spree. lol
Please feel free to start your own news community and mod anyway you want. I actually recommend it and think it's good for Lemmy to have more content. I'm not joking or being sarcastic. I really think Lemmy needs more content even if I don't agree with the content.
