I strung some bead necklaces for Miss Seagon's b'day. It's not as easy as it looks. Made with garnets, aquamarines, seed pearls and many different kinds of crystals and beads.

Miss Meow didn't wake up this morning.

I think I'm a bit in shock and not sure how to feel, this is very unexpected.

12

What a horrible surprise. All the feels. I agree with Eagle that its good that her last days were normal: at home and in her comfort zone, not vet visits and extra stress. Give Mr Woof an extra pat & hug from me.

You will miss all that love. Best wishes for a long recovery.

2

Oh no. What a shock for you.

But also a blessing that her last days were with you and not vet visits. ๐Ÿ–ค

4

Iโ€™m so sorry. Hopefully it was peaceful for her. Look after yourself, hope you are doing ok tonight.

2

So sorry to read this. Sending you and Mr Woof much love and warmth ๐Ÿ’œ ๐ŸŒˆ

We'd been wondering how to get the kids to clean up after themselves more and getting a robot vacuum cleaner has unexpectedly resolved that issue.

The kids are so excited about having a robot and they want to be it's friend so they put things away so the robot can do its job. It's been a double win

yay, Miss Seagoon loved her new necklaces, she wore the blue green silver one and fiddled with it a lot. It has so many different shape beads, it's long and it's asymmetric, making it very tactile.

So looks like a win. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Playing a show Thursday. It'll be a good warm up for the year.

Decided I'll be doing one every couple of weeks from now on.

Finally ordered a NAS and it arrived today. I could probably do the same thing with the PC running OMV I have, but there's so much more setup involved and I keep running into roadbocks with networking. I'll use this and keep it simple whilst I learn to do things by myself

6

aussie.zone

Never used OMV, but if you run into any problems with synology/truenas/linux/proxmox/debian/ubuntu/routeros I can gladly help you out. Getting a nas is a lot of fun and some hard yakka.

2

It's a cheap 2 bay Synology. I know people don't like them at the moment but I decided to go with basic whilst I figure things out. Being able to setup the app to access it from anywhere without needing to fuck around with setting up my own VPN is nice, but I'll figure all that out at some point too

Whenever I have a bath I always ask the fam if anyone wants second hand bath water and there's never any takers although the dog trots in like I'm giving away ham.

Question: What's something nice you've done for someone else lately?

5
Mertreply

Cooked dinner for three. Gave the op-shop Krishna meals an extra dollar to cover their fridge costs. Gave the cat water bucket and the birdbath a thourogh clean and refill.

I pushed a dumpster that was left blocking a footpath out of the way (and got bin juice on my hands). I try to be the person that does the thing instead of waiting for someone else to do it.

Recently helped an elderly man use the self checkout at the supermarket. Seemed not something he did regularly. The only thing he was buying was flowers. Iโ€™m sure thereโ€™s a story there and itโ€™s probably sad.

Made chicken rice for dinner last night because Boyo wanted it even though I didn't.

What is Chicken rice? Sounds like paella. I need new chicken recipes. 1/3 of the house are complaining that they hate chicken. 1/3 of the house are complaining they don't like red meat. 1/3 of the house hates anything new. And 2/3 hate lentils. I am stuck with what to provide them with. This is a share house with three people if you were wondering about all the /3 stuff. Many suggestions are welcome!

Soupe allemande for dins tonight. Which is something of a slur, but very very delicious. As with all good food, it fails the instagram test spectacularly. Good pork sossiges with plenty of character, spuds, carrots, cabbage and a bay leaf/juniper berries all gently simmered in water and then cream added at the end. Enjoy with cous cous or leftover rice or just cubed bread to soak up the jooses.

5
Mertreply

Sausages/cabbage/Juniper is always a winner. With a chopped potato thrown in to absorb all the juices. I would be sent to hell for trying that recipe here.

We wondered for a while what nationality the neighbours from across the road were. Islanders of some sort. Well today the question has been solved. Their JBLs are so loud I was able to shazam it from my garage. They're Samoan and they like to sometimes party on a school night.

the whipped cream on the cake tastes like burning ๐Ÿ˜Š

only had 3 tsps

Back from the beach yesterday..

pothole: 1

Car tyre: -1

Crawled to a servo in werribee about 11am. Sat there for 4 hours waiting for a tow. Luckily bro and SIL were at the werribee zoo and gave us a lift back. Left car at the servo and key with the servo dude for the tow (quite common apparently had my doubts though).

Sat next to bro/SILs bubz... he woke up, had one look at me and started crying.

Back home at 5pm. Out for dinner for some overpriced gnocci but the garlic focaccia well up there. Sat next to same bubz who was hitting me on the arm and laughing at me for 2 hours.

Apparently tow arrived at 8pm lol.

I'd give yesterday a solid 6/10.

Coulda been worse.

Oof, that doesn't sound fun, but am glad you made it! And yay for garlic focaccia as a nice top off!

Wasn't that bad. Servo had a subway, maccas and red rooster heh.

But fuck me subway isn't cheap these days. Think the last time I had it was about 20 yrs ago.

5

I just watched a video about Jared lol, I'm kinda surprised Subway is still alive after that fiasco.

Fun fact, Jared the Pedo could be released in 5 years. So that will be interesting to watch unfold lol

3

sounds delicious ๐Ÿ™‚

and at Miss Seagoon's request we're also having Lebanese for dinner tonight

5

I need to get on board this unKaso train.

Edit: unKaos. Though maybe I'm on board the unKaso train and didn't realise it.

4

I went for a ten minute brisk walk at lunch and spent some time just now on some basic care I've been neglecting (multivitamin, prep lunch for tomorrow, put some milk on for yoghurt). I am just creating little spaces

I was putting flyers up for my show at the magic festival and was wondering if there is a list somewhere of community notice boards that people can give their flyers to put up. I know libraries have them and some cafes but can't find a list

3

No solid list but libraries, community centres, supermarkets, some cafes, those are the places I can think of off the top of my head

Itโ€™s brighter today than it was yesterday, for the first time in like 6 months. Keep hope alive.
