Upgraded my shower rack turned server rack with dust filters

Originally a shower rack, I removed the wheels and fastened it to my TV shelf with wires. The fans of the single board computers where so loud and ineffective that I chose to remove them and instead installed six of Noctua's cheapest chassi fans. After a while, I noticed that dust builds up, so I fastened these grease filters with some Velcro. Easy to take off and clean. I know it looks ugly as they are weighed down in the corners, but their purpose is to catch dust, not to walk the red carpet. 😎

Ah, you mean it's a shower rack turned server rack. I was confused by the title+pic and thought you'd waterproofed to run this in a shower for some mad reason.

Won't the metal baskets and rack act as a Faraday cage, reducing the effective range of the wifi?

I have no idea, but if anybody has any educated guess on this whatsoever, please comment! I'm extremely intrigued! 😊

If that's indeed the case, then, don't the permanent magnets inside the fans also introduce some electromagnetic interference? 🤔

In any case, my flat is a measly 30m², so on the 5GHz band, I'm not experiencing bad speeds at all. 😊

The metal will block some Wi-Fi signals, but not completely, because the gaps between the bars are too wide to block it all.

2.4 GHz also happens to be the frequency that microwaves operate at. Every microwave oven has that mesh in its window, because those holes are precisely the right size to let you look through while still blocking all the 2.4 GHz emissions inside the box.

Thank you for an excellent idea. I'd been wracking my brains (please excuse the pun) for a way to stack miscellanious things like that, and this is an ideal solution; it's got good airflow, plenty of places to secure cables, enough room to access everything, whist also being compact.
