Reality check

Shit! I just found out I'd been at this exact point before, and I didn't even remember it when I posted about my "first" Friday yesterday.

This post was also from me, 1 year ago on a different account:

And also this one where I wondered how to navigate an upcoming work outing at a beer festival:

I went to that festival, and I drank. Just "one last exception", cause I didn't want to make my sobriety official in front of my colleagues yet.

And that was that. Another year down the drain.

It’s only “down the drain” if you don’t learn from what caused you to stumble. Sobriety is a lifelong journey. From those posts to today you wandered a bit, but now appear to be back on the path to sobriety.

Everyday is a new day and a new opportunity. Don't dwell on the past of beat yourself up, we are not perfect beings, that is what makes you human. Don't think in years or month or even weeks about this, lets just do today and when tomorrow comes we'll tackle that tomorrow. IWNDWYT friend.

Sounds like it was just one day down the drain, unless you just accept defeat and give up.

There is no such thing as being 100% alcohol free. If you drink a sugary drink, some bacteria in your digestive tract will make alcohol. If you have too much of the wrong kind of bacteria, you end up with Auto-brewery syndrome

So don’t beat yourself up over it. If you can go a year with only one drink. That is great work and you should feel proud and strive to do as good next year.
