That's one way they can use their resources
Every time I see somebody talking about a bug or security issue, or insisting Mozilla just doesn't have the resources, I think about this.

I sure hope this is a figure of speech and means it was one guy who spent like 3 hours on it, because honestly that's what it feels like.
That is ignoring of course the absolute waste of potential good karma by saying "Yo we added a World Cup widget" then when you check it out it's just a box that says "LOL get fucked FIFA you pedo enablers" and closes itself again. I would have loved it had they done that!
A three-hour project and not a three-phase one? You'd think, but unfortunately, no such luck.
The person whose job it was to speak up in meetings and ask things like "FIFA? Are you sure? Do we really want to get involved with an organization like that?" is no longer employed by Mozilla.
I think that this is symptomatic of a much larger issue at Mozilla, leadership, or rather, lack of leadership. AI, tracking, privacy, funding, the list of crazy coming from there appears to be just ballooning.
I see no evidence that they deal with actual bug reports, no evidence that they care about users and no clear path being forged, unless they want to enshitify their business, in which case, that appears to be going swimmingly.
If you haven't seen it yet, and you're interested in reading a thoughtful post from somebody who does care about Firefox (and even worked for Mozilla for 15 years), I would really recommend reading it.
There are, at least, viable paths forward for Mozilla described in it.
If only they'd listen.
(Every once in a while, I look at their Mozilla Connect community forums to see what questions the higher-ups pose to the community. When they get positive responses, they'll usually talk back. When they get negative responses, they never ever reply.)
They have no idea what they're doing any more.
We need jwz & the original post-Netscape team to take over again. Ditch the CEO and anyone who isn't onboard with the original mission.
