Florida Panhandle Sailing?

Does anybody know of sailing opportunities in the Florida panhandle, specifically nearer Tallahassee? I have a friend that I met through my sailing club who moved down there for work. She's really missing sailing. I'm thinking about going to visit soon, and we've been looking around for bareboat charters or rentals of monohulls, and not having much luck. (I'm finding mostly luxury catamaran charters further down the coast.) Beyond that, anybody know of clubs or organizations in the area?

The problem is that the water in Apalachee bay (Just south of Tallahassee) is shallow near the coast, so it's not a good cruising ground. You don't really get a lot of depth until you're all the way to Clearwater. When I was doing that part of the loop we jumped from Port St. Joe to Clearwater to avoid the shallow water off Apalachicola.

Thanks! Not what I wanted to hear, but excellent local information. That makes a lot of sense.
