Spyke

Every scene with the horrible clown was a delight, especially when he had to interact with the convenience store guy.

The game is great, but (IIRC) one of the later puzzles requires you to go out-of-game to check their kickstarter -video for a solution - which I guess is "cool" due to the metanarrative (assuming I use the word right), but... I do prefer games to be bit more self-contained. Is the game going to be "softlocked" once the kickstarter-campaign page gets taken down or so?

I haven't played the game since I got it after release, who knows, they might have fixed the ks-video requirement.

Yeah it's been a few years since I played it but I can't remember having to do that.

AFAIK there's nothing stopping you on rubbing every item ever on the thing

I did hastily search what the puzzle was, found this gamefaqs walkthrough: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/pc/189927-thimbleweed-park/faqs/74655

::: spoiler spoiler She [Delores] was given a BALLOON ANIMAL with instructions to watch the Kickstarter video. If you were a project backer and/or you watched that initial pitch video that Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick put out, you were probably laughing about this as much as I was.

In any case, head all the way back to where it began -- to the CORPSE in the river by the bridge. It's poetic and a little bit cheesy, but hey. USE the BALLOON ANIMAL on the corpse and the game will start "glitching." Soon you'll be in the Wireframe World. :::

anyway, it's just the "reliance" on out-of-game media that rubs me wrong. I don't expect KS to keel over tomorrow, but it requires internet to check. This could be a pretty hefty speedbump for someone playing the game on eg. steamdeck and not having any kind of internet access, etc.

This is for sure one of the better "new" point and click adventures, really enjoyed it! Also, available for Android.

The game and story was fun, but half the puzzles were too random and you had to use every object on every person to see what happened. There was no thinking required, and that was a bit of a disappointment.

I loved the jump scare with Edna at the end though.
