It's more that Schroeder has frequently made a thing of his passion for Beethoven and disparagement of anything romantic or sweet, while Tchaikovsky's considered treacly because of the Nutcracker Suite.

I wonder which Tchaikovsky piece this is. We only have a single bar, and no key signature, which makes the search a bit difficult...
