Mature & Realistic Pokémon Fanfic Recommendations
Hi!
I don't know how many Pokémon fanfic readers are here, but I’ll give it a try.
I want to read a Pokémon fanfic, but I almost never read fanfics, so I’m a bit lost. I’m looking for something that is:
- realistic and mature (no ten-year-olds sent alone into the woods; real danger; Pokémon/trainers can die; villains have believable motives; themes that resonate with adults, …),
- not overly edgy (I read Sacrifice and Subjugation and appreciated its realism, but the teenage edginess is annoying),
- character-driven with interesting characters (OC or canon, I don’t mind),
- finished.
Do you know any that fit? Thanks!

Overall, Archive of Our Own is really good for fanfic. I guarantee you'll find fics matching your description here, though I don't know any myself.
Hi. First, letting you know there are other readers here. That said, it's defo not my area so I'm not sure how much I can help. In particular because I don't usually filter by finished status.
Do you specifically need trainerverse / world-with-humans fics, or would eg.: PMD (Mystery Dungeon) fics following the other requirements good recommendations?
