Gunn's already confirmed Clayface is going for an R rating, so I don't see any reason why they wouldn't do the same for Lobo.
I think both DC and Marvel are getting more comfortable tweaking their darker characters as needed to slot into family friendly fare while still going hard in their solo titles. See Punisher and Peacemaker
