Moral of the story is: don't be a good person.

Nah but really a more charitable interpetation is just complaining that we do good and still get shit.

The moral of the story is that capitalism doesn't have an incentive structure that is beneficial to society. The Ferangi are not there to say you should do what they say. They're there to represent capitalism in a more concrete form, and make you come to terms with the fact that you don't actually agree with it. They literally give a voice to capitalism.

Yeah no shit, lol. Either these people aren't native English speakers or our education system has gone to shit.

2

We just called it "skipping school". Native English speaker here.

I do remember the Alien Ant Farm album "Truant" but never knew what it meant until now.

It really explains why 2 of my 3 nephews have dropped out of high school. The 3rd starts high school in the fall, and I expect him to follo2 his brothers' footsteps. Of course, theyre in Idaho, and education is particularly hated there...

2

On the flipside I hate it, because it doesn't answer the question.

You think he put that jack under the tire, but that doesn't make any sense. The tire isn't even flat.

It's obvious what happened. The truant officer was driving down the street and accidentally ran over a jack. What we're seeing here is the truant officer trying to remove the jack that has gotten stuck in the tire tread.

Could be lifting by the rear control arm/bottom suspension point. I do that when the pinch welds on cars start to rot out.

5

On one hand, the jack looks too far outboard for that, but on the other hand we don't see the top of it so it could plausibly be behind the tire.

I think it's just not drawn all that well.

I just follow a more or less game theoretical heuristic- treat people with kindness. If they respond disingenuously, treat them the same.

Then if they do better you treat them better.

Works as a rule of thumb for me at least.

One time I was walking along inside of a mentally ill dragon's head and I bumped into a ghost. I offered to raise him from the dead, because it seemed like a nice thing to do, and he accepted. But that was a BIIIIIIIG mistake! Turns out he was from a culture where having sexual intercourse with your pets is accepted! He started fucking that dragon, even when the dragon didn't want to. I told him not to do rape anymore, and he said no! So in the end I had to re-kill the guy and turn him back into a ghost.

The moral of the story is check if people are evil before raising them from the dead.

4

That's actually the truest answer, always do good to people who appreciate it

2

Love how the truant officer has a sign in his car window telling everyone who he is! That kid should probably get back to school so he can learn to read (or at least learn the meaning of the word truant)!

You reached the end
