I have suicidal ideation, have my family dealing medical issues, dealing with my landlord being a spying lying piece of shit, my job sucks with a bad manager, and I've never said people need to self harm.
Personal history doesn't factor into your words. She could have said anything else, she chose not to. She didn't have to say "yeah harm yourself, and you're a fake socialist if you don't believe that".
I'm not gonna exhaustively pick through the modlog but (a) I don't think she said exactly that, I think that's how you interpreted other things she said. If I'm wrong link me
(b) people of all different ages, backgrounds, and cultures mix online. People behave differently at different stages of life and people who come from worse environments or have worse peer groups are going to have internalised different things
(c) I am absolutely positive you have said some hurtful, ignorant, foolish, or poorly expressed things when hurting. People tend to not be their best.
(d) Not everyone experiencing suicidal thoughts is experiencing the same degree of pain or equally (un?)clear headed.
(e) many many people who self harm believe, genuinely, that it is a good solution. I have a shitload of carvings in my body some more and others less artistic because at a time in my life the only way I could feel joy was heroin or hours of pain. At certain points it can seem rational, and in a short timeline it can be exactly as rational as e.g. a suffering addict using a drug. Because it is bad advice does not mean it is malicious.

Normalising then, it's a behaviour many people engage in but expert recommendation is that it's maladaptive and it's not good to direct people to it or make it seem normal.
Regardless, just remember stuff federates to like blahja and shit. Maybe you think those places are bad places for weak people or something but they're still people. The 4Chaneque self hating and irony soaked humour is going to upset people that aren't expecting to come across it and tools like scaled sorting make this more visible.
I mean imagine if on dbzero a bunch of people starting calling everyone fag and telling people to kill themselves, it would very reasonably be shocking and unpleasant to have that dropped in front of you. It's well outside the norms of socialisation
You have a very incorrect or unnuanced view about basically everything you mentioned that just tells me you didn't experience any of that properly or without struggle and show 0 understanding for it, but I think we agree for different reasons that a dedicated instance would be better for those types of communities, fortunately smth like that already exists and is also unfederated.
