Fake dog prank on a Labrador retriever
Light colored Labrador retriever is spooked by a woman moving a plushie dog in what i think was a bedroom. Dog peers cautiously from the edge of door frame. Seems like this would be easy to find but I had no luck.
ugh, pranks that scare dogs are not good things to do imo. wasent able to find anything referencing what you're asking for, founds lots of other things.
my gripe, is the dogs don't understand what a joke is and can easily develop anger/triggers towards aggression because of pranks.... or straight up be fearful of whatever triggers their memory of the scary incident.... and people wonder why some dogs just snap and be aggressive suddenly. sigh... people are so terrible in their thoughts.
hope you find what you wanted tho
You're anthropomorphising them and pressupposing outcomes.
edit. how am I anthropomorohising them in your eyes?
no it's not anthropomorohising anything. response conditioning is a natural thing for most, if not all all creatures and its not presuppositing the outcome, it's conditioning them to PRODUCE that outcome through repeated exposure.
it's literally how you (should) train dogs, and many animals. people do it with their animals, and they don't even realize its happening.
in the posted scenario, if you scare something by doing a thing with an object, it will associate that object to fear.. some animals quicker then others. and it gets worse when someone finds it cute and does it more because... social media or whatever.
you can condition a multitude of different responses to an infinite amount of objects/scenarios/actions. humans are not immune to this by any means. it's triggering a sight/smell/movement/gesture/(insert thing) to make your brain come to instant conclusion that (x scenario/action/reward/punishment) is going to happen.
Yeah I get that, it's definitely not a great thing to do. Thanks for trying to find it.
