Where in the EU do you still have to pay to relieve yourself? So I know where not to travel.

Very common in The Netherlands unfortunately. You can usually find a free one if you have some time to look/ask around for one but I didn't this time

In Austria it is extremely common in larger train stations, larger autobahn rest stops, etc. They have turnstiles at the door, you pay somewhere between 0.50€ and 1€, and often get a little voucher of the same value, which you can only use in the overpriced shops near the toilet.
