May 25th: I originally wanted my novel from last November to be a single work. But, the further I got in, the more I realized that the whole work couldn't be handled in a single novel. So, I found a way to change the last act to set up a second and third novels (possibly more - there's a shifting of scope as the story progresses).

May 26th: I think too many works present concepts in a good vs evil dichotomy. My take is to understand how a society can be completely changed, what were the steps that lead to the current situation. It's difficult to present this level of information without either (a) trivializing it, or (b) letting weigh the narrative down. I'm trying to defy readers expectations by presenting this information in a way that feels tangible, necessary to understand the story.
