Pretty happy with it so far. I encountered a pretty annoying glitch, though, where I couldn’t select outfits anymore at a mirror/closet. First, you see just one outfit without a preview. If you select that, the next time you try changing outfits, the menu will be invisible, though the buttons are there.

Might have something to do with using cheats/editcharacter, as I had my character be gloomy, but it sucked having him be moping around all the time. Oh well.

What I like compared to TS4: the characters, despite being very stylised, actually look more realistic. No Ken dolls, though the male characters do tend to look quite feminine. The animations are also more convincing and less ‘Disney’.

While the house building mode does seem a bit less polished than TS4, you are able to do pretty cool things, like building off the grid. My first house is all over the place, hardly a right angle in sight, but still pretty cool. I also like the events you get when the day ends; you can get free computers or a tax return - may need some more negative events too, but I like the concept.

I also like the way conversations work in concept: the folks just talk, filling up a bar, and when it’s filled up, you can pick an interaction, eg. flirt. Some interactions have a percentage chance. It’s not very fleshed out at the moment, though.

Oh, and it works swimmingly on OpenSUSE Leap 16 with an NVIDIA GPU, using Proton 11.0 Beta. I had some issues before where you’d see a test screen in the menu, but switching compatibility mode fixed this.

The build-mode is really the only reason I was interested in the game. Being able to build wall where I want is a huge W. Being able to stretch furniture to fit my walls? 😚🤌 beautiful. Don't need a bajillion mirrors anymore. Just a couple different frames and I'll make them fit

I don’t like using the stretch option for everything, for example when stretching kitchen counters the texture on top is also stretched instead of being tiled. But if it works, it’s really cool - really clever that it adds new elements eg. when you stretch a bed far enough you’ll get another pillow.
