This community is the one that caused me to figure out how to subscribe to a community on Lemmy. Daddit was the only community I’ll truly miss when I deleted my Reddit account. Glad someone is trying to recreate it here.

I am in no way affiliated with Daddit. Was just a dad to two young kids and found it a wholesome community. A fatherhood brotherhood.

Welcome!

Honestly same, it was the best sub. Lemmy took me a couple days to figure out but I'm getting the hang of it.

Granted I don’t think I did it right since I either only see my comment or only see everyone else’s.

The instance your on only starts syncing the posts once you subscribe. So you'll get everything from here on out!

Hi dad, I'm dad, u/engineer on Reddit. Last night my 4 year old daughter called me a "porcine wonder". She learned that from a book.

Wewdads. I was worried for a minute there--I need my wholesome(ish) forum of dads.

for some reason I was never part of the original subreddit, but I'm here for this!

I'm hoping this can be similar to daddit. My only worry is in the name-- dadsplain just makes me think of 'mansplain' and the obvious negative connotations with that.

Could be just me, though. Just worried it would end up leaning more towards lower quality content based on that. (I'm likely overthinking it)

This could be a daddit meme community maybe... like maybe a takeoff on how Calvin's dad explained things?

Yeah, that would make sense. If we want to end up seperating out the memery and the more serious and support based content, we could just create /c/dads

I was wondering if where the daddit was on Lemmy. Glad I found it.
