Jucika and the speaker fad
edit: substituted "fad" instead of "fashion"
Here's another one where I feel like there must be a more natural translation. It fits the joke of her getting in on the "trend/fashion" of using an annoying loudspeaker, but it reads as a little stiff to me. @[email protected] - are you around to assist?
As always, stay tuned here on ![email protected] for a slow trickle out of Jucika comics, but if you want to find more, here’s a good post with a large collection that /u/[email protected] posted last year: https://piefed.social/post/1258520

Thanks! That's incredible that the title could be condensed into a single compound word like that too. It would probably be a lot of fun to learn a language like that.
Sorry to misuse your comment but I want to check if the notification is going through now. @[email protected] you got a notifitication now?
notifications only work in comment mentions, not in post bodies
Strange
Hmm, that's strange. I thought it would ping you, but maybe I did it wrong. I don't use it very often.
I think notifications don't work in main posts, you have to write a comment with them.
I'm going to guess that at the time loud speakers started appearing everywhere and she/the author is sick of it
I don't blame them one bit.
Maybe "fad" would be better then "trend" or "fashion"?
Ooh, I like that better. I'll edit the title.
Was wearing loudspeakers a thing at some point?
I'd assume the comic was made when busses got outfitted with PA systems, and the joke is "what, if talking loudly isn't good enough anymore, do we all start carrying speakers around?"
I imagine the portable ones are hyperbole.
I don't think so.
