'We mould trees to grow into the shape of chairs'
The idea grew when Gavin was in and out of hospital with Klippel-Feil syndrome - a rare congenital condition characterised by the abnormal fusion of two or more neck vertebrae.

Our budget is $2.9M. Next on HGTV!
“Bret is a part time carpenter and Donna sells dog collar charms on Etsy.”

Our budget is $2.9M and 20 years. We hope to send Kaiylleigh and Brngn to college with their own custom grown chairs.
Where does Brngn end and the chair begin?
This is actually a thing. The chairs don’t grow fast enough to supply demand.
Or you could make stools from stumps of a cut up log. This seems more efficient and you get multiples per tree.
Those are actually beautiful. Would sell like hotcakes during the Art Nouveau period I bet.
Maybe they can mass-produce with bamboo.
The rapid growth might actually make bamboo harder to train than trees are.
Good point!
I love the concept but I’m wary of the actual results. And if LV is using it for store displays, probably beyond my means.
I’d go for a dining set if I could.
There’s irony in that.
What do you mean "wary of the results"? Why?
Maybe wary isn’t the word. The concept is nice but the execution looks like it needs work.
