Probably the one the grocery company Lidl is working on to tackle AWS but im not sure how far they are in making it publicly available.

It is based off the Dutch system called iDEAL. We’ve been using it as our standard way of paying in web shops for about a decade.

Since iDEAL is behind this and it’s already the standard way of paying online for all Dutch people, I expect it will simply be a matter of time before all Dutch people will pay with Wero.

When we pay with iDEAL we already see a screen saying (in Dutch) “iDEAL will be renamed to Wero, nothing else will change”

I hope the transition is as smooth as that, but we will see.

I recently tried to pay on a (German) Webshop that claimed to support Wero via iDeal, but the provided QR code wasn't supported by my (German) banking app (GLS).

I think iDeal is only supported by Dutch banks, so the webshop might support iDeal, but only for Dutch customers (or those with a Dutch bank account).

That's really not many. And 90% of those I don't even know. But some of the "coming soon" seem like game changers for the common folk.
