Honestly you can expect 40 hours from me all you want, but your gonna get about 20-30 hours of actual work from me max

This definitely is NOT true. A regular work week in the Netherlands is still considered to be 40 hours from Monday to Friday. There are companies that have 36 or maybe even 32 hours per week, but that is by their own decision.

Wishful thinking. Not that I don’t wish for the same, but not enough to post disinformation about it.

I think libs in NA would make workers bleed for this to make sure they are afraid to ever fight for more. The five day work-week was a compromise, and look where that got us. These measures do indeed afford more time and energy, and therefore, health to workers, but they don't address the fact that wage labour is already theft, regimented time is dehumanization, and every time we compromise, they take revenge.

What happened when the five day work-week came? They slowly eroded it and every other marginal victory won in the late-nineteenth and early-twentieth centuries until it became a privilege to have at all. How many workers do you know that actually have jobs that abide by the 9-5, 5 day week? I know manual laborers, factory workers, and retail and service workers don't get that or weekends much of the time.

The fact that this argument depends on incentivizing companies to adopt this policy as a vector for even more productivity is a sign that this is a half measure to the benefit of capital. What's the most frustrating is that I know so many middle-class and barely insecure libs would take this and forget about every other disingenuous moral opposition they had to liberalism and capitalism.
