It's very rare for chemo to give you cancer, although it is possible.

But yeah, chemo is basically, "we hope this kills the cancer before it kills you." Although newer treatments tend to have less horrendous side effects than older ones.

What are 'carver'?
I only know carving skis, called carvers, but you can't really eat them - at least not comfortably
