The first record I ever owned. Sort of.

It was stamped on the back of a cereal box, complete with a dotted line to cut it out on, and I did, and had it for years.

That record or cereal box is probably a collectors item today.

Edit: Heh, [$19 bucks]

(https://www.ebay.com/itm/185187155061) I found out from a YT short

I watched the Archies on TV in the 70s as a kid, and I thought all the songs at the end of the shows were meh.

I had no idea some of them actually charted in the US. Well, actually I so young that I wasn't aware what a singles or album sales chart was at the time.

I guess they tried to repeat the formula with other cartoons from that era with songs at the end of the weekly episodes: Josie & The Pussycats for sure, Scooby Doo(?), Sid & Marty Krofft shows like the Banana Splits, and I'm sure there were others.

The same producers even made a Beatles-only medley.

It was an easy formula to string together hit songs for a medley, but I'm not sure what royalties the original artists got from the producers.

You reached the end
