WA government admits emissions may rise as it abandons reduction targets
WA Premier Roger Cook says the state's emissions may rise because of the important role it plays in helping the world decarbonise.
It comes after the ABC revealed the government is abandoning plans to implement interim emissions reduction targets.
The government will instead legislate targets for renewable energy generation, carbon capture and storage, and green exports.
So we are going to help the environment by increasing, rather than reducing, emissions. Riiiiiigh. FFS.
That was my first reaction too. You've got to be kidding!
Which part do you find least credible in particular?
Oh well, we can just reduce emissions when everyone is already dead.
