In my country, for creating a new account on Facebook, it would first make a mobile verification and then record your face using your camera. Is it the same at your place ?
But that's not supposed to be the manner in which social media should behave, right ?? I mean, why should you be forced to be authentic when you're on social media ???
So that they can keep track of your every move and have a full personal profile of you and your social network and run it all through AI and predict your behaviors and movements ao that they can push ads and sell your info to the NSA.
This is a big discussion. Facebook mainly does it because some law says it or to stop kids from getting in. People say this is bullshit and that Facebook does it to sell our data.
The answer for me at least is do not sing up.

Luckily it didn't do this to me when I tried it. Good since I spent 2 hours putting in obviously false/very vague information about myself, my name is not real in there and so on.

They're as unique as fingerprints, so it's a pretty reasonable biometric. It's also less prone to being copied in spy movies. Well, most spy movies.
