It's cool to see art with different shades of only one colour, and using only one brush is for this is super impressive! He's very cute, and I love his facial expression :3

This brush I only use for shading and it tends to smudge colors, which gives bit of a watercolor look.
I can definitely see why you chose to keep the name, as they look absolutely amazing.
