I was a kid in 6th grade the last time I spoke any significant amount of German while attending Internationale Gesamtschule Heidelberg. With nobody to speak in German with since then, I have forgotten too much of it in the roughly 45 years since to hold even a minimal conversation. I wish that weren't so, as I still miss that beautiful country (kid me loved exploring the castles).
