Simple Card Wallet
The template was another one from Odin down in Texas. The hide was a 2-3 oz Cognac chrome tan from Montana Leather Company. On this one, I tried laser engraving out for my company logo and spent extra time dyeing the edges black and burnishing to a high gloss.
Looks beautiful!
Thank you!
Do you plan to sell them, or are they just for personal use?
In the coming months I plan to sell some stuff on Etsy and the like. Right now, I'm just toying with designs and getting ideas on what's enjoyable to make and how to figure my overhead. I've only fairly recently taken up leathercraft and still have a lot to learn. I plan to retire in roughly 8 years and I'm using the time between now and then to develop a side hustle to keep me occupied when I'm not fishing. 🤣
Nice. Drop a link when you get that set up. About 12 ish years ago I bought the Saddleback front pocket and I like the style. Yours is similar and I like it, too
Will do and thank you! For this particular leather I thought the simplified approach would good for a dressed up night out. I have other, thicker leathers that I've made these from, and they wear into a nice long-term patina a little more readily.
I really like that Saddleback design! I'll have to tinker to see if I can come up with something akin to it. Maybe an airbrush dyed veg tan. 🤔
Damn, looks nice. Good job!
Thank you!
Looks nice but just fyi I would have all cards in something that blocks rfid nowadays. Granted you can get the individaul card sleeves. although they might peak out.
Thank you for the suggestion! I'm still in the learning stages and haven't yet figured out how best to hide the RFID blocking material in something so thin and minimal. The sleeve may be the only real way to do so and not lose the aesthetic or longevity of the piece.
