Received a yarn subscription as a combo Christmas/birthday gift - a 50g + a 20g skein of sock yarn every other month. The theme is Saturday morning cartoons and when the Care Bear colorway came I abandoned my Hermoine socks and cast these on instead. Pattern: Dragon skin socks; Yarn: Bling Your String sock in color Care Bear stare

Knit and blocked a swatch for my next sweater, the Argo cardigan. Yarn: Knit Picks Woodland in color hot spring

Finally I’ve been looking for small projects I can make to use up leftover yarn I have from finished projects. I’ve been making these Soho scrunchies for kids I work with, and they’re a hit:

That's a pretty special gift. Given its smallish g amount are you doing a small project per month or building up a singular product and adding each month?

I’m deciding that for each batch as it comes. Overall it’ll probably be many smaller projects since I don’t have a big project picked out. This one immediately said socks for me, and since I typically use 60-65g for my socks I should have just enough.

The January-February colorway that came (the 50g mostly dark blue with the 20g being orange) would be perfect colors for my dad. But his feet need more than 70g of yarn. That yarn is hanging out until I decide if I want to add a 3rd color and make him some socks, or if it ends up in another project.

The dragon skin sock pattern works really well with those colors! I definitely need to get this two-at-a-time method going. The scrunchie idea is a great way to use up yarn ends.
