Trump fires the entire National Science Board
Rep. Zoe Lofgren, D-Calif., the ranking member of the Science Committee, said in a statement, "This is the latest stupid move made by a president who continues to harm science and American innovation. The NSB is apolitical. It advises the president on the future of NSF. It unfortunately is no surprise a president who has attacked NSF from day one would seek to destroy the board that helps guide the Foundation. Will the president fill the NSB with MAGA loyalists who won't stand up to him as he hands over our leadership in science to our adversaries? A real bozo the clown move."

So that's what the shooting was a distraction from
Conspiracy theorists are the worst.
Fascism doesn't want education or truth. It just wants loyalists who follow the fascist doctrine
How much longer until he fires congress?
Honest question: does he have the authority to do this? Not that it changes anything in the immediate term, just wondering if this is yet another move that will eventually be undone by the courts.
That's an interesting question.
I'm not familiar with it, but it sounds like it advises Congress as well as the President.

While most of the government is under the Executive Branch, there are some institutions that are in the Legislative Branch, like the Congressional Research Service:

I'm pretty sure that Trump doesn't have authority over the CRS.
I suppose that there will probably be some lawyers opining on it, though given that it's seven people, they may not bother challenging it.
He didn't have the authority to do half the stuff he has. Why should this be any different?
Oh, I'm aware. Just wondering which one this is. (I'm betting he doesn't.)
A lot of the stuff he does is successfully challenged in court, that's why.
The USA is killing itself and everyone is just shrugging.
72% of Republicans think the US is going in the right direction. They are not just shrugging, they are applauding.
It is pretty clear at this point that almost nothing Trump could do would lose their support. How can the US ever work if Republican voters are so utterly detached from reality? It is likely a symptom of corrupt media.
Laying it on the line for Pedophile President Drink Bleach.
Does a bear poop in the woods?
I hate Trump as much as most people, but Zoe Lofgren is quite literally one of the most corrupt of the congressional class. She has been in office for decades and enriches herself through silicon valley tech donations...
Nice whataboutism.
