Huh, a glitch gave my Sim family §9,999,999
I'm not complaining about it, but it was totally unexpected.
Sometimes to supplement a family's income, I'll have them collect frogs and breed the more expensive ones. I have a family with a full frog collection and had each of the three members (both parents and the infant son) breed whirlyflower frogs in their inventory. I recently had them move into a new house and after some furnishings, their money zeroed out. So I went to sell some frogs.
When I sold just a handful of frogs, something weird happened. Instead of giving me the few hundred simoleons I expected, the household funds turned into §9,999,999!
I figured, well, I was trying to get them more money anyway, so I went along furnishing their house and kept playing. I didn't take a screenshot at the time, but was thinking about this strange glitch today and figured I'd share it here. (Which is why in the screenshot, the funds number is lower and the infant is now a child.)
Shortly after, the game bugged where it couldn't pause and I had to restart the game. Thankfully, I had saved the game inbetween those moments, so the money (and new furnishings) remained. I've had no issues since.
I have no idea what exactly happened. I don't know if it's related to the frogs, to the infant, to the new house (Palomino Junction in Chestnut Ridge), or to the fact that the family income was literally zero. I don't know what triggered it or if the glitch is replicable, but I found it interesting and wanted to share.
I too would be flirty if I got 9,999,999
