If you do buy it now next time you get €500 you won't have the same problem.

The risk is the opportunity cost, there might be things you could invest those $500 in that will give you more than that in return.

The odds of having that $500 are significantly smaller than you might think.

Meanwhile, buying that safe is a guaranteed way to no longer have that $500.

Just don't advertise that there's that much money to steal. Simple.

Safes are sometimes heavy and hard to steal. I propose that we buy the safe so we don't get hustled when we leave with it but then rob the store to get our money back. It'll probably be easy to take because they just sold their safe.

Or just hook the safe up to your sports car and drive off with vin diesel dragging though the streets.

1

Depends on the purpose of the safe.

I have a fire safe for all my important documents (life insurance, will, birth certificate, etc).

It has a nice handle so I can move it if I need to.

2

The same way you bring any large object you legitimately purchase home. Turns out it's a lot easier to do if the people you get it from are okay with you taking it.

Rule of thumb if you want to secure/protect something, invest 10% if the item's value towards its security.

So for something worth $500, buy a $50 safe. $10000, a $1000 safe. Etc.

If you want an actual (reasonably) secure safe in your home. Get a proper gunsafe that can be bolted to the ground and/or wall.

A fucking pain in the ass to transport if you ever move though. But that's the cost of having a reasonably secure safe at home.

If you need something more secure than that, I think you need to store it in a bank.

Glad you didn't. Be careful, we removed the door before moving it so it was at least slightly lighter.

Am I missing a punchline at the end? Or does it simply end with additional frustration?

I must imagine it's very satisfying to be able to make a comic where you can copy-paste a panel this often

You reached the end
